Marianne E. Murphy’s suicide prevention and social-emotional learning (SEL) expertise is rooted in 40 years of lived experience with chronic suicidal ideation, surviving two major suicide attempts and psychiatric hospitalizations in her 20s, and overcoming mental health challenges time and again. She turned her pain into purpose, making it her mission to help others feel less alone by offering peer support training on how to have critical conversations about suicidal ideation and self-harm. She also teaches patient advocacy, mindfulness, somatic coping skills, and provides grief support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide through her nonprofit, Dance Walking Fool, Inc. Dance Walking Fool, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in November 2021. During her 2019 Dance Walking Fool campaign, she spoke with more than 100 people across 13 states.
Marianne holds a B.A. in Written Communications and certifications in Health Coaching, Mental Health First Aid, and Positive Intelligence Coaching.
